First, I’d suggest you check out the Bio Dept’s website which has an abundance of advice and information on the SIP process!

Something that can’t be stressed enough is starting early to identify projects and mentors. Laboratory funding situations in this country are only making it harder to find research SIP opportunities, so start early and communicate often and widely with prospective mentors and their labs!
